foyers are the first impression, a mood setter, a welcome to your guests. they say a lot about a person and their home, therefore, they have to be fabulous!
foyers come in all shapes and sizes. those with walls call for a console or a chest with a dramatic mirror above. those that are more of a pass through, a round table is always inviting. larger foyers add a lot of drama, a perfect gallery for art and seating is a must- settees, ottomans and occasional chairs here and there, very chic!
gorgeous lighting is a must- a pendant over a round table, lamps on a console or multiple sconces at eye level. i love a foyer with a dramatic door, printed wall paper or painted patterned floors! why not have fun? it’s a contained space and it has to be fabulous!
fresh flowers or dramatic branches, stacks of books, a bowl for keys and coins, a tray for mail, rush baskets for shoes and hats, umbrella stands for a rainy day are functional, friendly and fabulous additions.
dim the lights, place flowers here and there, welcome your guests- be fabulous!
The last Foyer is my favorite.
Thank You for the tour of some of the best foyers. Great!
an invaluable compilation! Thanks, Mark!
We agree with Patrick. Our favorite is the last foyer. It is open, uncluttered, and welcoming, with alot of natural light. Good work Mark. Congratulations on your recent House beautiful cover and inside looks at your lovely home. Excellent interview as well. Continued success.
Love Bilhuber, Gambrel and Huber but the last one is my favorite. Wish the Pic showed the top of the table. XO
All of them are beautiful but my favorite is the last one designed by the one and only Mark D Sikes! Love it!
